One of the most important Navaids in Regional W.A. is located at Caiguna on the Eyre Hwy. The Caiguna VOR/DME is utilised as a primary tracking point on East/West air routes.

Eucla (EUC/YECL)

Western Australia is free of many exotic pests and diseases. Aircrew are provided with a Quarantine Bin at Eucla Airstrip to dispose of Fruit and Vegetable products carried across the WA Border. A 24hr Quarantine Checkpoint is located approximately 15kms east of the Airstrip on the WA/SA Border.

When the Eucla Airstrip is flooded and an emergency airlift is required part of the Eyre Hwy is utilised by the RFDS as an Emergency Airstrip.
